Pest Control Research Limited (PCR) is a Christchurch-based research, development and product supply company, established in 2000 with the goal of promoting and improving all aspects of vertebrate pest control, monitoring and ecosystem management in New Zealand.
PCR undertakes innovative, functional and targeted ecological research and animal pest strategy development projects. Our primary aim is to produce and deploy the highest quality, most effective, humane, environmentally and socially acceptable tools for the vertebrate pest control and environmental management industries throughout New Zealand and overseas.
The company focuses on delivering high quality solutions to animal pest and environmental management issues by facilitating and undertaking research and development of new tools and methodology and to supply a broad range of New Zealand-made products direct to you at highly competitive, wholesale prices.
We are committed to developing and providing the technology for you as environmental contractors and managers to effectively and efficiently undertake work that will benefit and enhance the quality our countries natural heritage in perpetuity.
Our company has two specific areas of focus, Research and Development and Product Supply.
Collaboration, Consultation & Commitment:
PCR has excellent collaborative links with other research organisations including a large number of New Zealand's Universities and Tertiary Institutes, the Department of Conservation, Animal Health Board, Crown Research Institutes and vertebrate pest bait manufacturers.
We also provide consultation and technical support services to City and Regional Councils, private forestry, farming, research and environmental consultancy companies, iwi and community groups who require pest management strategies, solutions and product supply.
PCR would particularly like to acknowledge the Animal Health Board and Department of Conservation for commissioning many of the research projects. The AHB have been responsible for dramatically reducing the incidence if tuberculosis in cattle and deer herds in New Zealand over the last 10 years.
